AMPOL ... A Leading Oil Spill Response and
Total Environmental Solutions Provider

AMPOL: American Pollution Control, Corp.

Oil Stop Hits Home Run With OSBORS

OSBORS Oil Stop, a division of AMPOL, completed Phase 2 testing at the National Oil Spill Response Test Facility, also known as OHMSETT, as part of its contract with the U.S. Coast Guard Research and Development Center to develop submerged oil recovery equipment.

The Oil Stop Bottom Oil Recovery System (OSBORS) successfully accomplished a battery of tests in recent months. Moreover, since the Leonardo, N.J., Oil and Hazardous Materials Simulated Environmental Test Tank (OHMSETT) allows the industry to work with real oil in simulated environments, many things were observed and learned as to how to further adapt OSBORS for operation in real-world scenarios.

In the end, all observers were impressed with OSBORS' ability to effectively remove the sunken oil. As one third-party observer noted, "You guys hit a home run with that system."

We are more confident than ever that, whether working from a floating platform using an excavator in up to 50 feet of water or using the SubDredge in up to 200 feet of water, OSBORS is a viable method for effective sunken oil recovery. <<READ MORE>>
