U.S. COAST GUARD CONTRACT

The Oil Stop Division of the American Pollution Control Corp. (AMPOL), the industry leader in oil spill response and total environmental solutions, has been granted a Phase 2 contract for development and testing of its OSBORS (Oil Stop Bottom Oil Recovery System) submerged oil recovery system by the United States Coast Guard Research and Development Branch.

The OSBORS is a specialized package of equipment designed to remove oil that has settled on the sea floor. The heart of the system is the Tornado Motion Technologies (TMT) SUBDREDGE. Phase 2 of the contract involves final design and planning for live testing at the Bureau of Ocean Energy, Management, Regulations and Enforcement’s (BOEMRE) OHMSETT facility in Leonardo, New Jersey in late 2011.
The Oil Stop Division manufactures equipment for oil spill control; water pollution control; and specialty items for mining, marine construction and seawater desalination facilities.
AMPOL offers oil spill response, tank cleaning, confined space entry services, naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) treatment and storage, lead and asbestos abatement services, insulation services, hazardous material (HAZ-MAT) emergency cleanup, soil remediation and demolition services.
